Cald2LEAD/Leadership Victoria Inaugural Women’s Leadership Program Scholarship Awardee

We are delighted to announce the awarding of our Inaugural CALD2LEAD/Leadership Victoria Women’s Leadership Program scholarship recipient is Joanna Abraham.

CALD2LEAD Chair Dennis Banfield said: “Faye, Steve, Hugh & I are delighted to congratulate and welcome Joanna to the CALD2LEAD scholarship family, and we greatly appreciate the partnership with and support from LV to make this happen! Thank you to Christine, Katherine & the LV team for all their support and willingness to work with us and our growing CALD2LEAD community.

Leadership Victoria CEO Katherine Ellis said: “Joanna is an outstanding leader, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Women’s Leadership Program next week.  Scholarships for LV programs have a double impact – first supporting leaders from marginalised communities to access leadership development and build connections, and second, bringing diverse experiences which enrich the understanding of all program participants. Thanks to the CALD2Lead team – it’s wonderful to see the connection built in an LV program years ago continuing to drive such amazing impacts for community.”

Victorian Women Lawyers Vice President Joanna Abraham Scholarship recipient said “I’m deeply honoured and incredibly excited to be the recipient of the CALD2LEAD Scholarship for the Women’s Leadership Program by Leadership Victoria. This opportunity means the world to me, and I’m profoundly grateful to be a part of such an inspiring community of scholars, and for the trust and support extended to me.

As I embark on this journey, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of leadership, not just in theory but in practice, with a specific focus on empowering women from culturally and racially marginalised backgrounds. I aim to build on and hone the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to become a more strong, empathetic, and vulnerable leader in a way that best serves those I have the privilege of leading. My goal is to harness this experience to drive positive change within my various communities.

I’m excited to learn, grow, and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable future through this remarkable opportunity. Thank you for believing in my potential, and I can’t wait to make the most of this incredible experience!”

We are absolutely delighted to partner together in our mission to develop the leadership capacity of CALD Women Leaders and encourage others to get involved where you can.
